A particularly hardy eucalyptus variety, rating at H5 on the RHS hardiness scale, ‘Azura’ is well-suited to growing in UK conditions. Trained into a charming patio tree shape, this compact plant is perfect for both terrace and balcony growing.
While its bluish evergreen foliage glistens gloriously in the sun, ‘Azura’ also radiates a wonderful aroma, with notes of cool mint perfuming the air. The ornamental nature of the leaves, alongside the lovely fragrance, result in a tree that’s simply perfect for bouquet cuttings.
The bark is distinctive and peels back to reveal a creamy patchwork of urban camouflage, while in the heart of summer, fluffy white blooms (also fragrant) often emerge, particularly as the tree matures. Following the flowers, small woody fruits (sometimes referred to as gumnuts) are borne in autumn.
