  • While eucalyptus can grow to more than 12 metres, it responds very well to pruning techniques (like coppicing and pollarding) and can be kept as short as just a couple of metres. Whether you grow it as a multi-stemmed shrub or train into an upright specimen tree, this versatile plant can do it all.
  • As your eucalyptus matures, it will shed its bark (or, to use the technical term, it will undergo decortication) to leave a patchwork appearance which only adds to its already-hefty charm.
  • Known to repel insects like mosquitos, the cider gum tree (as its typically referred to as) is a great choice for planting near water features, ponds, patios and decking.
