  • Do tomatoes get anymore distinctive than this? This oxheart variety (named as such given its resemblance to a bull’s heart) dazzles with its stripy red-orange appearance and seriously bulky size.
  • Each tomato weighs up to a quarter of a kilo (oof) and contains relatively few seeds when compared with other cultivars. Sweet, aromatic and meaty, these hefty toms are ideal for sandwiches, salads and sauces.
  • Displaying excellent resistance to both mildew and blight, ‘Gourmansun’ is also a prolific cropper, yielding delicious fruits from July through to September.
  • Cut into your tomatoes when ripe and you’ll see flesh not dissimilar to that of a blood orange, with orange and red streaks intermingling beautifully.
  • Grow your cordon tomatoes in the open ground, a grow-bag or a patio pot (just make sure you give it a support).
