Rich and full of flavour; pick the baby leaves for your salads in summer then use the mature leaves in stir-fries, curries and soups. Make kale crisps by spraying chopped leaves with oil and baking in the oven.
Grow in plots, raised beds or large pots. This plant boasts excellent winter hardiness and is a useful winter vegetable when other crops are scarce.
