Another benefit of autumn-fruiting raspberries is that they don’t usually require support, which makes them a fabulous choice for container growing or for gardens where constructing a support isn’t practical.
Certified by the RHS as one of its Plants for Pollinators, raspberry plants like ‘Autumn Treasure’ attract bees with their pollen-rich flowers (which are highly attractive in their own right).
Primocane varieties fruit on the current year’s canes, so it’s important to get your pruning right. Cut back all the fruited stems right to the ground around February time, so that new shoots will grow the following spring. Those new canes are what will bear the following year’s fruit.
