  • Blackberry plants are designated by the RHS as one of its Plants for Pollinators, indicating its significant appeal to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects.
  • With good levels of firmness, you can expect to freeze any surplus of blackberries you have without worrying about the quality being affected.
  • Train your blackberry plant in a fan shape against a fence, wall or wire trellis. Alternatively, you can train it up and over a pergola or archway to give your garden that hedgerow feel.
