While we might first think of the fruit when we think of peach trees, they can be just as spectacular as a purely ornamental plant. ‘Taoflora Pink’ is a prime example of this, boasting spectacular double pink blossoms through March and April, with each flower measuring up to 5cm across. Talk about oomph…
Only growing to around four metres or so, this tree is an ideal pick for smaller gardens and can even be grown in a large patio container.
The blossoms are a big hit with pollinating insects like bees and butterflies, so if you want to attract more wildlife to your garden, this tree makes a compelling case.
Another standout feature of this variety is its disease resistance, which is significantly greater than that of other Prunus persica cultivars.
Unusually for a peach, ‘Taoflora Pink’ is frost hardy all the way down to -18C, so provided it’s kept in a relatively sheltered position, it’ll be able to withstand what most British winters can throw at it!
